Chippewa Lake and the Chylds

Back in the early 60's Medina County had a rockin' fair and concert series at Chippewa Lake Park. I saw Creedence Clearwater Revival, Bob Seger, Ted Nugent and the Amboy Dukes, and the Chylds, featuring Joe Vitale (standing up) on drums. They wore black and white checked harlequin suits...they looked sharp!

I went there once and saw the Left Banke on a weekend afternoon. Besides their hits ("Walk Away Renee, Ivy Ivy, etc.), they covered The Beatles' "Got To Get You Into My Life". -DS

I worked with the Chylds back then, doing the "Psychedelic Light Show" (Psychedelic Soul) and we always had a great time.
What a blast from the past, when I searched for "The Chylds" today and this came up.
Fun times, indeed. A great time of my life.
I just got an e-mail from Joe Vitale, and there is a Chylds reuniun in the works.
Tim Hogan has, sadly, passed away, but it should be a good time.
I'll try and get there (I now live in Oregon).

I know this post is WAY old so no one will probably read this, but it's nice to see posts about my Dad's band. I am John Berecek's oldest daughter. He played guitar for the Chylds.
